Composer, pianist and singer CLARICE ASSAD PRESENTS “OFF THE CLIFF” a concert featuring JOÃO LUIZ REZENDE (guitar & cavaquinho) KEITA OGAWA (percussion) and Clarice Assad on piano, voice, scat, mouth percussion and electric bass.
The group will perform Brazilian and jazz standards, as well as original compositions in a display of endless energy, soulfulness, versatility and virtuosity. The concert, entitled “OFF THE CLIFF” receives its name for a portion of the show, when the group invites a guest or two to jam on a completely improvised tune, taking a true, deep leap of faith. ASSAD will be singing in Portuguese, English, French and Italian, as well as scatting though blazingly fast tunes, using the voice as an instrument.
The concert on May 20th welcomes a lovely surprise guest. The show starts at 8 PM and it celebrates ASSAD’s newly released album “HOME” on Adventure Music. (There will be a few CDs for sale.) Plus a download code for HOME to the first 5 people who show up at the STONE.
